DESCRIPTION:Recurring in both mainstream media outlets\, as well as social media\nplatforms\, is the topic of police use-of-force. The Safariland Use-of-Force\nInstructor Course is the most comprehensive method for understanding\nand teaching use-of-force. This training will familiarize attendees with the\npertinent Use-of-Force case law and demonstrates how it relates to policy\,\ntraining and actual “street” applications. Along with learning the skills to\nteach use-of-force\, participants will be shown how to assist in use-of-force policy writing and/or review force-related report writing and assist\nagencies in defending use-of-force cases in the courtroom. \nCOURSE OVERVIEW\nThis course incorporates lecture\, video and classroom discussion into\nthe training. The curriculum focuses on Graham vs. Connor and utilizes\nadditional recent court cases to gain better understanding of what officers\nare allowed to do based on the actions of the subject. DESCRIPTION:Using a comprehensive learning and dynamic hands-on curriculum\, first responders will learn how to utilize a straight baton\, which is one of the most useful less lethal technologies on the duty belt\, in direct and/or transitional ways for overcoming subject resistance through strikes\, jabs or blocks and establish practical anatomical control over a subject for the purposes of escort and/or handcuffing. \nThis 2-day\, highly dynamic course is like no other because it provides you with the useful defensive skills in all 3 zones of defense\, especially for CQB. DESCRIPTION:Gain detailed information involved in the use of all types and forms of Oleoresin Capsicum aerosol projectors. This 8-hour course covers all aspects involved in the selection\, preparation\, deployment\, storage\, and legal ramifications regarding the use of all OC products. The student will also acquire specific information in Defense Technology® OC products\, including all formulations\, blends and spray patterns\, along with the skills necessary to return to their agency and conduct in-service training.\n\nCOURSE OVERVIEW\nOne of the most common law enforcement tools in use today\, this course\nfocuses on the proper deployment of OC. The course is separated into\nlectured-based studies followed by a half-day of practical application\ndrills\, product testing and evaluation in the field. Unlike many classes on\nthis topic\, the information provided is direct from the manufacturer of the\nproducts used.\n\nThe course covers topics such as tactical considerations\, decontamination/\nfirst aid\, protective masks and criminal and civil liabilities\, and policies and\nprocedures with a focus on instructor development to prepare the student to provide in-service training and documentation for their agency. Throughout the class\, students participate in discussions with our instructors who are nationally recognized for their experience in real-world deployments of OC products. Upon completion of the course\, and successfully passing the final exam\, the student may provide in-service training to their agency in specific areas for 36 calendar months from the testing date.\n\nCOURSE BENEFITS\nThis course is conducted by real-world professionals with strong\noperational experience in their respective fields.
