Pamela is an advocate\, special educator\, college administrator\, author\, and most importantly\, a fellow citizen wanting to work with law enforcement to ensure SafeEncounters® for all. They are associates of the New Horizon Center for Autism Services. Pamela’s own positive encounters with law enforcement officers inspired her to bring this training to the police community to strengthen the relationship between officers and individuals with Autism. Pamela wrote the book\, “Autistic ….and Thriving” with a chapter devoted to improving encounters between law enforcement and Autistic individuals in their communities. Participants will receive a copy of this book. \nCourse Description: The CDC estimates 5.4 million Americans have some form of Autism: about 1 in every 54 children born will have Autism.
