Crisis Intervention Team Training
ADDRESSING THE NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITY AS LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS
This 40-hour comprehensive training addresses mental health related topics, crisis resolution and de-escalation skills, and access to community-based services. A variety of learning styles are presented, including didactics/lectures, on-site visitation to mental health facilities, interaction with individuals with a mental illness, and scenario based de-escalation skill training. Experience has shown this is a minimum level of training hours as the materials covered are complex. The desired learning outcomes go beyond simple cognitive retention of the material and into behavioral changes learned as part of the training.
Training is FREE and supported by the Hamilton County Mental Health & Recovery Services Board, NAMI Ohio, and Mental Health America of Northern Kentucky & Southwest Ohio.
