Crowd Management and Mobile Field Force

Featuring experiences from small-to-large protests, acts of civil disorder to large-scale riots, the Safariland™ Training Academy Crowd Management
and Mobile Field Force Instructor course meets the needs of all sized
agencies. Whether you are currently responsible for crowd management or
anticipating the need for a mobile field force, this course has a lot to offer.
This 5-day course is for both the officer and supervisors covering all aspects
of crowd management. Safariland believes in giving the first responder the
tools needed to complete the mission and believes that hands-on training,
whether utilizing the riot baton, working with riot shields, or using a launching system, is the best way to be successful. We believe that openly discussing successes and failures better prepares the responder to succeed.

COURSE OVERVIEW
This 5-day course includes classroom-based training as well as many hours
of outdoor hands-on training. The course covers many of the following topics:

• A look at some of our country’s recent riots
• Planning and preparedness
• Staging and deployment of resources
• Chemical and less lethal deployment tactics
• Grenadier training
• Riot shield and riot gear training
• Stress inoculation training with real-world exercises
• Use-of-force and riot baton training
• Arrest team procedures and mass arrest
• Community relations in crowd management
• Intelligence gathering
• Instructor development

PREREQUISITES
Basic firearms proficiency and instructor background. Students should have a basic understanding of crowd control techniques and less lethal munitions. The Defense Technology Training Academy trains only sworn law enforcement officers, correctional personnel, state-licensed security personnel (OC only), or active military personnel. This course is not available to civilians.
