HCPA Target Shoot And HR 218 Certification

H.C.PA. Monthly Shoot Dates and HR.218 Certifications

April 18, June 20, August15 and October 17. Time: 0900 to 1500 hrs.

Eye and hearing protection is mandatory.

Where: Fairfield Sportsmen’s Association, 6501 River Road, New Baltimore, Ohio 45030

Note: Modified hours of operation and revised course of fire for monthly shoots:

Stage 1.     Distance:         2 yards      Time:   25 seconds     Rounds:            12         

Action: On signal, draw and fire 6 rounds with dominant hand and six rounds with non-dominant hand. Holster.

Stage 2.     Distance:         3 yards         Time :6 seconds         Rounds:          6        

Action: On signal, draw and fire two rounds into the scorable area of target , and one round to the head. (Head shot is 10 points). Holster. Repeat.

Stage 3A.         Distance:         3 yards           Time : 8 seconds        Rounds:      6     

Action: On signal, draw and fire 6 rounds into scoreable area of target with dominant hand  only. Remain at the high ready position with the handgun in the dominant hand.

Stage 3B.         Distance:         3 yards            Time: 8 seconds         Rounds:       6

Action: On signal, transfer handgun to non-dominant hand and fire 6 rounds into the scoreable area of target. Holster.

Stage 4.        Distance:         7 yards          Time 8 seconds.         Rounds              6

Action: On signal, draw and fire six rounds into the scoreable area of target. Holster.

Stage 5.          Distance          15 yards            Time:   12 seconds.   Rounds:          6

Action:  On signal, draw and fire three (3) rounds). Remove magazine, reinsert and fire three (3) rounds into scoreable area of target.

Stage 6.       Distance:         20 yards.          Time: 8 seconds         Rounds:            8

Action: On signal draw and fire eight rounds into scorable area of target.

Unload and make pistol safe (Magazine out, slide locked back and chamber empty) Holster.

Total 50 rounds.          Cost     $5.00.                   H.R.218            Cost $10.00

Each course of fire counts as one shoot for awards program.  Award participants must register four scores in 2024 and shoot on a minimum of two different dates for award eligibility.

Open to all City, County, Federal, and private police agencies including retired members.
