THE SCIENTIFIC BASICS OF FINGERPRINTS:
CLASSIFYING, RECORDING, & COMPARING FINGERPRINTS
WHAT: This course is for individuals interested in obtaining a basic understanding of fingerprints. Participants will learn the fingerprint pattern types, classification using the Henry (if applicable to the agency), National Crime Information Center (NCIC) systems, and AFIS Pattern Classification (APAT) code. The course will demonstrate procedures to effect an identification or exclusion, and will cover recommended techniques to record/collect legible fingerprints and palm prints. Course curriculum consists of: Presentations, Facilitated Discussions, and Practical Exercises.
Cost: There is NO fee for this course.
